87-year-old man buys a new coffin for his ‘future’ burial

For his third funeral service since 2009, an 87-year-old man from Busia, Kenya, has purchased
a new coffin.
According to reports, the 80-year-old man
known as Aloise Otieng Ng’ombe purchased a coffin in 2009, another in 2012, and a third one in 2022
all in preparation for his upcoming death.
According to K2TV, Aloise recently spent Ksh58,000 on a new coffin for his funeral since the two he had
previously purchased, in his view, are now obsolete models.
The new coffin, which is presently being kept at the father of 18 children’s business in the Obekai
neighborhood, will be used as his future coffin since the original coffins are now out of date.

When asked why he is preparing for his “future funeral,” he stated:
“I want my community as a whole to learn from this.
If you are living, you may not have the necessities.
People will kill bulls and give you lovely clothing and shoes when you pass away, but you won’t be around
for very long.
I made the decision to organize a send-off worthy of my social level because of this.
