SHS grads hired for CHPS compounds would be paid GH400 – YEA

SHS graduates will be paid GH 400 – YEA if they are hired by CHPS compounds.

According to the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), it is well-equipped to pay the 5,000 senior high school graduates who will start working at CHPS compounds in rural areas across the nation at the end of this month to help with basic health care delivery.
The agency’s head of corporate affairs, Emmanuel Kwasi Afriyie, argued on the Point of View on Citi TV that all of the agency’s programs under this government have been sustained, and this one will be no different.
“Our beneficiaries have never publicly complained about unpaid allowances since we hired attorney Justin Koduah as our CEO till the appointment of my present boss. We do a great job of managing our programs.
“We are completely ready to continue the program,” He also mentioned that the program’s recipients will get GH 400.

The YEA said that by the end of this month, 5,000 senior high school graduates will be hired to help with basic health care delivery, such as documenting patients’ medical histories at CHPS compounds situated in rural areas.
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association criticized the plan and called the action worrisome since it believes that only qualified professionals should be hired.
In response, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, stated that the system has been in place since 2016 and is focused on community participation rather than clinical practice.
